Leaving a Legacy: Setting the Stage for the Next 100 Years

 

These Alumni Host Committee volunteers have contributed their time and effort to bring the vision of the conference to life.

 

Kerry-Ann Edwards

Kerry-Ann currently works in finance as a relationship manager at Citi where she manages and creates content and thought leadership to facilitate engagement and assess sales opportunity for the largest investor clients of the firm.  She previously worked in Foreign Exchange marketing investment solutions.  Upon entering Citi in 2008, she worked in global policy strategy analyzing global policy issues and actions that impacted trading within the investor business in the US.  She started her career in 2002 in financial services in sales in the municipal markets department at Merrill Lynch.  Kerry-Ann holds an MBA in finance from Columbia Business School (CBS’08) and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Spelman College (2002). Kerry-Ann grew up in New York City but currently lives in New Jersey.  Kerry-Ann currently serves as a trustee to the New York Foundation (NYF.org), a private, 100 year-old grantmaking organization, where she serves on its Investment and Audit committee). 

 

Uzo Ometu

Uzo is an aspiring media & technology leader, with experience in journalism, entertainment, and technology. He currently works at Google, serving as a consultant for digital media firms and as a liaison between some of Google's product and sales teams. While at Google, Uzo has also been a key contributor to projects at YouTube involving the Brandcast, YouTube Spaces and Top Creators teams. Prior to being at Google, Uzo got his digital chops working at digital media agency Morpheus Media. At the same time, he also created his own blog network, which consisted of a sports blog that Uzo built out of his time while working as a producer and journalist for CBS, ESPN and Inc. magazine.

 

Michael Robinson

Michael Robinson is a Senior Associate Director of MBA Admissions at Columbia Business where he has over a decade of experience focusing on advancing diversity & inclusion.   Michael is a graduate of Baruch College (BBA '87) and Columbia Business School (MBA '01). His professional experience includes a seven-year tenure running a profitable music publicity firm where the platinum-selling Grammy winner Shaggy was a former client; experience as a business development analyst working in Panasonic's Strategic Alliances Group; and consulting for independent media companies. He co-authored a comprehensive media study on the state of public service broadcasting in the Caribbean and is a former freelance writer who has completed three New York City Marathons.

 

A part time motivational speaker, Mr. Robinson is known for his hip hop inspired presentation dubbed ‘The SWAG Speech.   Described as a conversation about the link between confidence and excellence, the multimedia presentation makes use of a wide variety of pop culture, sports, political and historical icons including Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Muhammad Ali, and Usain Bolt, and also cites Winston Churchill, Abraham Lincoln and President Barack Obama.   Attendees leave the presentation with specific tips – a road map, if you will – on how to be more competitive in a challenging economy and also with a clear understanding that excellence is the nexus between Passion, Purpose and Preparation.

 

Shelley Stewart III

Shelley Stewart III is a consultant with McKinsey & Company. He serves primarily Industrial and Basic Material companies with a functional focus on both strategy and marketing & sales topics. Shelley is a 2012 graduate of Columbia Business School. Prior to attending Columbia, he was a Partner and Co-founder of investment firm Dreadnought Capital Management and prior to that a fixed income trader with JPMorgan Securities. Shelley has BA in economics from Boston College.
